Although we've known each other since high school, we reacquainted at a best friend's wedding. It's not what you're thinking...paired up walking down the aisle after we watched our best friends say I do. It was later that evening after their wedding at a local bar with a group of friends where Windell had the courage to ask me for a dance, don't mind where that courage might have come from. Afterwards, we became closer friends over casual dates, church league softball games, and spending more and more time as a group with the two who brought us together (thanks Mal & Matt). On May 17, 2022 on the way to the Lang's house, Windell said "when my co-workers asked why I took off this week I told them I was taking my girlfriend to a Braves game, is that okay?" While dating, we learned what it meant to support and encourage each other through times of joy and loss, while trying to find something good in each day. With almost 2 years of dating, we supported each other through starting new jobs/careers, found a community at church, and went to a LOT of weddings (13 to be exact). But my favorite memory of ours so far happened on my 26th birthday, April 13, 2024, when Windell asked me to be his wife. Forever with sweet Windell can't get here soon enough!
